COVID Clotting

  As we race against the COVID clock, researchers are searching for the underlying mechanisms by which SARS CoV2 can cause such havoc in the lungs and other organs of the critically ill patients.  This clotting contributes to the severity and fatalities of COVID blocking blood flow in lungs, hearts, and kidneys.

            Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet (LMU) in Munich researchers believe that they have uncovered clues.  In patients who died of COVID, the blood clots were examined and found to be a mix of activated platelets and activated immune neutrophils.  This points to the participation of a dysregulated or overactive immune response in the more severe cases.  Understanding the mechanism will hopefully lead to therapies soon for these sickest patients.

As we move forward with our Immune Prepper Course One, we urge our researcher medical colleagues to continue their quest for a deeper understanding.  I will keep working to prevent patients from ever getting this sick, but we need better therapies for those in ICUs and on ventilators.
